Wee asks Penang govt for answers on tunnel project again

PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong has continued to press for answers to the controversial Penang undersea tunnel project, expressing disappointment that the state has not clarified the current status of a major contractor from China in the project.

He pointed out that after over a week, the state has not responded to his findings that the project’s engineering, procurement and construction partner – China Railway Construction Corporation (CRCC) – was paid only 5% or a little more than RM3mil since the contract signing and has since stopped work.
