CNY event organisers ignore PCCC’s call to refrain from using ‘miao hui’

GEORGE TOWN: Organisers of the Penang Chinese New Year celebration have remained steadfast on using the term miao hui as part of the event’s name despite being asked not to by the Penang Chinese Clan Council (PCCC).

The official name for the Chinese New Year celebration on Feb 25 will be ‘Penang CNY Celebration (Miao Hui) 2018’.
