ALOR SETAR: Some 50,000 needy families in Kedah have received the Bantuan Rakyat Kedah (Barakah) aid boxes containing essential food items following the launch of the Barakah Programme in April last year.
Kedah Information, Rural Development and Poverty Eradication Committee chairman Datuk Mohd Tajudin Abdullah said another 100,000 families would receive it next year.
