SEREMBAN - The fire which destroyed the upper floor of the Seremban wet market was started deliberately, said State Fire and Rescue Department chief Norazam Khamis.
He said that his forensic team found traces of petrol at one of the stalls and solid fuel in a nearby bin.
"It was arson. Someone deliberately started the fire which eventually destroyed the upper floor," he told reporters.
He had earlier briefed Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan.
A total of 392 shops selling a variety of products and foodstuffs were destroyed in the Sept 9 blaze.
It will cost RM6mil to repair the damage.
