Police remand man over fatal stabbing of Umno Youth branch chief

SEREMBAN: A 31-year-old man has been remanded for seven days to assist the police with their probe into the fatal stabbing of the Kg Nyatoh Umno Youth branch chief.

The suspect was arrested on Monday after he allegedly stabbed Norhaidi Mat Yusop at his mother's home in Taman Bukit Sejati at about 7.30am on Monday (Nov 6). 

Norhaidi died after being rushed to the Tuanku Ja'afar Hospital for treatment.

Neighbours had earlier seen both men having a heated argument before the victim was allegedly stabbed by the suspect.

The case is being investigated under section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
