KUCHING: Sarawak is set to expand its forest areas in the Heart of Borneo (HoB) initiative to 2.5mil ha in an effort to enhance its conservation efforts.
Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg said the new area, an additional 400,000ha from the current 2.1mil ha, will cover the Kelingkang Range, Bungo Range, Gunung Pueh National Park, Gunung Gading National Park, Samunsan Wildlife Sanctuary all the way to Tanjung Datu National Park in the state's southern areas.
