‘A level playing field for all’

KLIA2 was supposed to be a no-frills budget airport for low cost carriers. Initially estimated at RM1.7bil, its price tag rose to RM4bil when it was completed in 2014 after a number of delays.

But it doesn’t feel like a low cost airport. So the Malaysian Aviation Commission (Mavcom) is pushing to hike up the passenger service charge (PSC) at KLIA2 to match that of KLIA for a “level playing field”.
