KUALA LUMPUR: The acquaintance that Sub-Inspector Abu Hashim Ismail was talking to before he was shot dead is under restricted residence for smuggling activities.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar (pic) said the acquaintance was, at the time, confined to the area after being detained under the Prevention of Crime Act (Poca) 1959.
