BNSC: Penang wouldn't cancel 2011 water deal because state debts could rise to RM1.89bil

KUALA LUMPUR: The Penang government did not cancel the 2011 water restructuring agreement because it could cause state debts to balloon up to RM1.89bil, said Datuk Seri Abdul Rahman Dahlan (pic).

The Barisan Nasional Strategic Communications (BNSC) director explained that the agreement had helped the state government in reducing its debts from  RM687.8mil to just RM32.55mil in 2011.
