KAJANG: A small fire broke out at the Kajang Hospital's emergency ward on Friday.
In the 1pm incident, the fire, believed to have been caused by a short circuit, broke out in the prayer room.
A Fire and Rescue Department spokesman said the fire started from the room's ceiling mounted air conditioning unit.
"Fortunately, the fire was put out quickly by the hospital staff using fire extinguishers before firefighters arrived," said the spokesman.
A hospital staff member said several patients were temporarily evacuated from the smoke-filled area.
No one was injured in the incident.
