KUALA LUMPUR: The first circular of new Chief Judge of Malaya Tan Sri Ahmad Maarop to his judges has re-ignited public discussion on the Federal Court's landmark decision in Semenyih Jaya v Pentadbir Tanah Daerah Hulu Langat.
The judgment upheld the Constitutional right to adequate compensation and right to appeal to a superior court, and declared the appointment of outsiders sitting in the High Court and reducing the judge to a rubber stamp as unconstitutional.
