PETALING JAYA: The seven individuals who were detained at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia) on Monday over suspected links to the Maute terrorist group were headed to Malaysia.
According to the Philippines Daily Inquirer, the group was about to board Cebu Pacific flight 5J 499 bound for Kuala Lumpur at 2.10pm when they were intercepted by immigration, who were alerted because four of the seven had the surname "Maute".
