PETALING JAYA: Demand for water in rural areas is expected to jump five or six times as many Malaysians balik kampung to celebrate Hari Raya.
The Energy, Green Technology and Water Ministry said treatment plants, pipes and water tanks in these areas were not designed to cope with the spike in demand during the two weeks.
