KOTA KINABALU: Malaysian security forces are closely watching the sea border between Sabah and southern Philippines and the insurgency in Marawi city.
Eastern Sabah Security Command (Esscom) chief Datuk Wan Abdul Bari Wan Abdul Khalid said security forces were on heightened alert although there were no unusual movements along the border after militants occupied parts of the southern Philippine city since May 26.
