PADANG BESAR: The Perlis Border Security Agency (Aksem) has foiled an attempt by four men to smuggle 18,700kg of subsidised cooking oil, worth RM46,750, into Thailand.
Its commander, Deputy Supt Syed Basri Syed Ali, said an enforcement team found the oil in two Kedah-registered lorries which were stopped for inspection at a roadblock at the 24km mark of the Ulu Pauh-Padang Besar road at about 7.30am on Friday.
