KUALA LUMPUR: People who plan ahead for their career will know their priorities and be motivated to work towards their goals.
This will be the crux of a talk by Cyberjaya University College of Medical Sciences guest speaker Wesley Chan at the Education and Career Talks during the Star Education Fair 2017.
The fair is set to take place at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre on June 10 and 11.
Titled “Taking Action and Stepping Up Towards Your Personal Excellence and Achievement”, Chan’s talk will be especially useful and insightful for students who are uncertain about their future.
It will focus on identifying the “top five values in a person’s career”.
“This is to discover the motivating factor in what they want to pursue, rather than having people tell them what to do.
“It is important to plan ahead so that you know your priorities in life, which keep you motivated and inspired to get up and go to work every day,” he said.
He added that his session is to help students decide what they want to study in line with their career plans.
Chan, who graduated as a chemical engineer, will also be sharing his own experiences and how he focused on soft skills and personal empowerment.
Catch him at the talk, scheduled for 11am to 11.50am, on June 10.
Also, check out the booths for an array of study options and programmes by foreign and local institutions during the two-day fair.
Students unsure of what to do after sitting for their SPM or STPM can meet with experts on pre-university education as well as counsellors and representatives from colleges and universities.
The experts will brief students and parents on a wide range of certificate, foundation, diploma and postgraduate courses as well as professional qualifications.
The Star Education Fair 2017 will be held at Exhibition Halls 4 and 5 at the convention centre. It’s open from 11am to 6pm. Admission is free.
