You have no interest in Tawfik’s suit, court tells Perkasa

KUALA LUMPUR: Perkasa has failed in its bid to become an amicus curiae (friend of the court) in a suit filed by pro-moderation advocate Mohamed Tawfik Ismail.

The Malay rights non-governmental organisation made the application in Mohamed Tawfik’s suit over the tabling of the proposed amendments to the Syariah Courts (Criminal Jurisdiction) Act 1965 on grounds that it had the right to give its views.
