ACP Anuar said the case would be investigated under Section 43 of the Road Transport Act 1987 for careless driving.

“We are looking for the driver,” he said.

A witness said the female driver was involved in an accident with a van at the New Lane and Macalister Road junction, and in her panic, reversed into the stalls.

A char koay teow stall helper said he heard the screech of tyres just before the incident.

“Before we knew it, our stall was hit and my boss got his hand injured,” he said.
