PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak arrives in Saudi Arabia today for a three-day working visit which will include a summit meeting attended by United States President Donald Trump.
Trump, who will be making his maiden overseas trip as US President, will be taking part in the “Arab, Islamic & US Summit” tomorrow.
Wisma Putra, in a statement, said Najib’s working visit to Saudi Arabia is at the invitation of Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud.
The Prime Minister will be accompanied by Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein, who is also Minister with Special Functions in the Prime Minister’s Department and other government officials.
Najib is also scheduled to attend the opening of the Global Centre for Combating Extremist Ideology in Riyadh. Malaysia is expected to play a major role in the development of the centre.
The Prime Minister is expected to have an audience with King Salman, Crown Prince Mohammad bin Naif Al-Saud and Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al-Saud.
