PETALING JAYA: PKR's political bureau will discuss the fate of the three PAS exco members at its next meeting, said Datuk Seri Azmin Ali (pic).
The Selangor Mentri Besar did not, however, say when the meeting would take place.
The three PAS exco members — Datuk Iskandar Samad, Datuk Dr Ahmad Yunus Hairi and Zaidy Abdul Talib — faced being thrown out of the state government after their party ended its political ties with PKR.
Azmin, who returned Friday from a working visit to Germany, said he had received a phone call from PKR adviser Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as soon as he arrived at the KL International Airport.
He said that Anwar wanted him (Azmin) to keep the door open for further discussions with PAS.
He said he had also received official word from the PAS leadership that its deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man wanted to meet to discuss matters.
Azmin added that PKR's position from the very beginning was to be open to any discussions.
"But certainly I need to report and discuss with my party leaders first before proceeding with any other meeting," he said.
Azmin was speaking after opening PKR's women and youth wings' annual convention on Friday.
When pressed on when he would meet with PAS, Azmin said: "The date is not important. What is important is that we discuss and win the election."
On the rumour that a former PKR member is joining PAS together with several PKR elected representatives to shake-up the Selangor administration, Azmin said it was not an issue.
"The state government is stable. I have the support of all the assemblymen of the Backbenchers Club in writing and also in my meeting with the PAS leaders before I left (for overseas)," he said.
He reiterated that there was no crisis in Selangor.
Speculation is rife that former Selangor mentri besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim will be joining PAS, together with four other PKR assemblymen.
