GEORGE TOWN: Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Azmin Ali should make the decision to end the impasse in the state government, said Lim Guan Eng.
The Penang Chief Minister said that although DAP is part of the Pakatan Harapan government in Selangor, Azmin should be the one to solve the crisis.
"It's his state, as such let him decide on solving the crisis before I comment on it," Lim told a press conference at the state assembly here Friday.
He was responding to questions on the quandary in the Selangor government after PAS decided to end ties with PKR but three members of the Islamist party remained in the state executive council.
The PKR congress this Sunday is widely seen to determine the fate of the Selangor government with calls asking Azmin to sack the exco members.
PKR president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail had said that she will make a joint decision on the PAS issue with Azmin when he returns from Brussels.
It was reported that in a recent meeting, Azmin had asked the three state executive councillors from PAS -Datuk Iskandar Samad, Datuk Dr Ahmad Yunus Hairi and Zaidy Abdul Talib - to resign from the state executive council.
However, Azmin assured them that PAS could still remain as part of the state government in line with the mandate won in the 2013 general election.
On Thursday, PAS deputy president Datuk Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man said any decision on the fate of the three PAS executive councillors in the Selangor government must be made with the consent of the Sultan of Selangor.
He said the appointment of the PAS exco members was done at the pleasure of the Sultan, whose consent was needed with regard to their tenure as members of the state administration.
