KUANTAN: Police arrested five people, including a couple, believed to be part of a group dealing with drugs during a raid.
Kuantan OCPD Asst Comm Abdul Aziz Salleh said the two male and three female suspects, dubbed “Group Aunty”, had been operating out of a hair salon in Jalan Bukit Sekilau here.
During the raid at about 4.45pm on Tuesday, police confiscated 875.85g of heroin, 330 Erimin 5 pills and 27.5g of syabu.
“The drugs are worth RM26,800. We believe the group has been operating in Kuantan for a year, dealing drugs mostly in the Kemunting area,” said ACP Abdul Aziz here yesterday.
He said all of the suspects, aged between 36 and 55, had prior multiple drug records.
“The 55-year-old husband and 53-year-old wife have also been detained under the Dangerous Drugs (Special Preventive Measures) Act in 2009 and 2012 respectively.
“The 36-year-old female suspect, who owns the salon, is wanted for an offence under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act,” he said.
ACP Abdul Aziz said all suspects tested positive for amphetamine and had been remanded until May 23.
