PUTRAJAYA: Three Melaka-based senior police officers have been remanded over allegations that they have been giving protection to illegal gambling dens and massage parlours in the state.
The three — two Assistant Superintendents and an Inspector — have been remanded for six days until May 22.
Magistrate Muhamad Safuan Azhar also allowed an application by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission to remand three other men in connection with the case.
All the suspects were brought to the Putrajaya court complex at 9am Wednesday.
All six, aged between 31 and 41, were rounded up during a sting operation in Melaka on Tuesday.
