KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk R. Sri Sanjeevan, former chairman of the deregistered Malaysian Crime Watch Task Force (MyWatch), has been freed by the Kajang magistrate’s court over a charge of intending to extort RM20,000 from a businessman.
DPP Megat Mahathir Megat Tharih Afendi asked the court for a discharge not amounting to an acquittal against Sanjeevan, saying that he has received a directive from the Putrajaya prosecution division chief to withdraw the charge.
