PETALING JAYA: The nation’s biggest health fair kicks off today with a wealth of wellness tips, information, products, offers and activities – and even the chance to try a little iceless skating.
After months of preparation, the 50-odd exhibitors are all set to greet visitors at FitForLife KL 2017.
First-time exhibitor 21st Century is excited to showcase its health supplements and traditional medicine.
“We’ve been around for 20 years but seldom participate in such events.
“We have taken part in roadshows and pharmacy functions before but this time, we decided to come in to do more branding and create awareness.
“The last two months have been crazy, as we’ve had to prepare leaflets, banners and bunting,” said assistant sales manager Hooi Choy Mei.
Among 21st Century’s bestsellers is its cranberry juice, and visitors can expect to buy the product at a discount.
Another newbie vendor is Malacca-based Orchard Wellness & Health Resort, which opened in 2015 and was a winner at the World Spa Awards in 2015 and last year.
“Being new in the market, we’re excited to show what we have to offer,” said Michelle Ng, personal assistant to the resort’s president.
“This includes packages in traditional Chinese medicine, weight management, Ayurveda, stem cells and health screenings.
“We also have sleep packages for people who have trouble falling asleep.”
Fairgoers can get treatment vouchers from the resort and pick up handy information on their health status as nutritionists and consultants will provide free consultation.
If you have always wanted to experience ice skating but do not like the cold and dampness, Live Great Skating is the activity for you.
Learn to skate on an iceless rink, or compete in ice hockey or curling.
For those who prefer to watch, there will be live performances by figure skaters, with two shows daily tomorrow and on Sunday.
Skating is an excellent way to enjoy a great cardio workout while improving balance, building muscle tone, managing weight and enhancing self-confidence.
The fair also presents the latest healthy lifestyle tips on nutrition, health checks, fitness and diet trends.
This time around, there will also be a Virtual Walk and a Fit Bid guessing game, which gives participants a chance to win hampers.
FitForLife KL 2017, with the theme “Get Fit. Live Great!” aims to inspire Malaysians to lead a healthy lifestyle by being physically and mentally fit.
FitForLife KL 2017 is organised by Star Media Group Bhd with Great Eastern Life as exclusive event partner.
Nestle Omega Plus is the official wellness sponsor.
The fair will be held in Halls 1 to 3 of the Mid Valley Exhibition Centre from today till Sunday. It is open from 10am to 8pm and admission is free.
