JOHOR BARU: DAP advisor Lim Kit Siang (pic) will defend his Gelang Patah parliamentary seat in the next general election, if he decides to contest.
The Gelang Patah MP said he was still struggling with the decision of whether to contest in GE14 or call it a day.
"If I contest in GE14, my first choice will be Gelang Patah but if there is a strategic reason that I should contest in another constituency, I am prepared to give it serious consideration," he said after a walkabout in Kangkar Pulai here on Saturday.
Lim added that he has been in politics for the past 51 years, since the formation of DAP in 1966.
Over the past week, several posters and a large banner questioning the whereabouts of Lim had appeared in front of DAP’s service centre in Taman Nusa Perintis in Gelang Patah.
A banner with the wording “Where is Uncle Lim Kit Siang? Gelang Patah misses you” was hung between two trees while a “missing” poster with his face on it was seen at a bus stop.
Lim has already served in several parliamentary seats in a number of states.
This includes stints as member of parliament for Kota Melaka, Petaling in Selangor, Tanjong in Penang and Ipoh Timur in Perak.
