Mum who slapped teacher to appeal against jail term

GEORGE TOWN: The housewife who was jailed six months and fined RM2,000 by a magistrate’s court for slapping a teacher two years ago has been allowed a stay of execution pending an appeal.

High Court Justice Azmi Ariffin granted the stay of execution to Tan Seow Yen, 36, and set bail at RM5,000 in one surety. Tan posted bail.
