GEORGE TOWN: The mother of three who was sentenced to six months’ jail and fined RM2,000 has been granted a stay of execution by the High Court here, pending an appeal against the decision of the Jawi magistrate's court.

High Court Justice Datuk Azmi Ariffin granted the stay of execution after considering the appeal by defence counsel Mohd Ismail Mohamed, who was representing housewife Tan Seow Yen, 36.
