Najib shaking hands with the people of Pulau Tuba in Langkawi
LANGKAWI: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said he will not budge on his stand to fight for the welfare of the people to ensure that every aspect of the community enjoys the benefits of development.
He said this includes residents of Tuba Island, which has a population of about 5,000.
He said the people of Tuba will enjoy development just like those in Langkawi island, which is a duty-free haven.
He said the completion of a RM46mil submarine cable to Tuba had helped to ensure smoother electricity supply to the residents, a project he announced in October 2012 due to frequent power disruptions.
"Additionally, the Government will include an allocation in Budget 2018 to build a mini stadium here.
"Tuba Island will also have a RM690,000 jetty in Tanjung Pandan which would be completed by the end of May," he said in his speech during his visit to the island Monday.
