Chef Wan appointed adjunct professor


SINTOK: Chef Wan has been appointed as adjunct professor of Universiti Utara Malaysia’s Tourism Management, Hospitality and Environmental school.

The 59-year-old celebrity chef, whose real name is Datuk Redzua­wan Ismail, was given his appointment credentials by UUM chairman Tan Sri Siti Sa’diah Sheikh Bakir yesterday.

The event was also witnessed by UUM vice-chancellor Datuk Seri Dr Mohamed Mustafa Ishak.

Chef Wan told reporters that he was delighted by the appointment.

“I am excited to share my experience with UUM and its students. I am also planning to publish an encyclopedia on Malay Food with the cooperation of the university,” he said.

Dr Mohamed Mustafa said the appointment was based on Chef Wan’s vast experience.

“His appointment is for two years and will end on Jan 31, 2019.”
