JOHOR BARU: Two people suffered injuries in an accident involving three cars, with one of the vehicles bursting into flames, at the Tebrau area here.

Johor Jaya Fire and Rescue Department operations commander Shahrul Nizam Ithnin said the accident on Sunday morning had gutted a Perodua Myvi, while a Perodua Alza and a Toyota Estima were badly damaged.

He said a woman in her 40s travelling in the Myvi and a 19-year-old man driving the Estima were injured.

“The Alza and Myvi drivers were unhurt during the incident,” he said in a statement.

He added the department received a distress call at around 11.03am and 13 firemen from the Johor Jaya and Tebrau stations were deployed to the scene some few minutes later.

Shahrul said the injured victims were sent to a nearby hospital.
