Malaysian doubles pair tied at 1-1 in All-England final

PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian mixed doubles pairing of Chan Peng Soon-Goh Liu Ying are tied in the final of the All-England badminton championships title on Sunday.

The silver medal winners at the Olympics defeated China's Lu Kai-Huang Yaqiong 21-18 in the first set at the Barclaycard Arena in Birmingham on Saturday.

They however lost 21-19 in the second set.

With this, Malaysia and China now head into the rubber set of the All-England mixed doubles final.

The last time a Malaysian won at the All-England mixed doubles was when David Choong combined with England’s June White to win the title in 1953.
