IPOH: The Simpang Pulai-Cameron Highlands road is safe despite the collapse of a 30m-long stretch at the 44th kilometre.
Datuk Zainol Fadzi Paharuddin, the Perak Public Utilities, Infrastructure, Energy and Water Committee chairman, said the portion of the road that gave way at about 9pm last Thursday was part of an old road structure, separate from the one used by motorists currently.
