KUALA LUMPUR: There was an air of sadness at Istana Negara as its 574 staff bid goodbye to Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah and Tuanku Haminah Hamidun, whose term as the 14th Yang di-Pertuan Agong and Raja Permaisuri Agong ends tomorrow.

The sounds of zikir and selawat recordings, which were played in the lobby of the palace, added to the solemn mood with some of the staff crying.
