KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has expressed confidence that the ringgit will recover.
"With recent changes and developments, we are confident that the ringgit will recover.
"It is due to speculation from outsiders that the ringgit dropped and uncertainties in the US – not because it is weak," he said when closing the "Seminar To Uphold The Instituition of the Penghulu" at the Putra World Trade Centre Thursday.
Najib, who is also the Finance Minister, also warned that external threats did not merely come from militant group such as Deash but from outside forces that were bent on determining who should govern the country.
He noted that political stability, positive growth and infrastructural development would help the nation's economy grow from the current RM1.3tril to a RM2tril economy in the next seven years.
