> Vovinam, a martial art famous in Vietnam, is practised in 35 countries. It has the touches of traditional wrestling. Done with or without weapons, it was created in Hanoi in 1938 and made its debut at the 2011 Indonesia SEA Games. Vietnam and Indonesia won five gold medals each out of the 14 offered. Only four nations took part.

> Kempo is a martial art that originated from Japan and China. Very popular in Myanmar, it literally means methods of hands and fists. Myanmar hosted it in 2013 but lost out by one gold medal to Indonesia. Indonesia won seven of the 18 gold medals on offer. Six nations took part.
