Najib assures non-Muslims no 'dual punishment' under Syariah amendments

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak (pic) has promised non-Muslims that the Government would conduct a thorough study on the proposals to empower the Syariah Courts to prevent any “dual punishment” system.

Thus, Najib, also Umno president, urged all parties to stop politicising the issue of the Private Member’s Bill to amend the Act brought by PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang in Parliament.
