PETALING JAYA: MCA has moved to clarify and correct certain reports on its stand regarding Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang’s Private Member’s Bill to amend the Syariah Courts (Criminal Jurisdiction) Act 1965.

Party president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said MCA remained firmly opposed to any Bill that ran counter to the spirit of the Federal Constitution, and considered Hadi’s Bill to be in such a position.
