KOTA KINABALU: Pirates made off with half a tonne of fish and 500 litres of fuel from a fishing trawler in the open sea near Jambongan, off Beluran district.

It is learnt that the pirates - six armed men - came in a speedboat from international waters and ordered the nine fishermen on a Kudat-registered trawler to hand over their money in the 3pm incident on Oct 24.
