KOTA KINABALU: Tan Sri Henry Chin was a man of dedication and discipline, said Datuk Seri Musa Aman.
Paying his last respects to the late Chin on Tuesday, the Sabah Chief Minister said the former Kuala Lumpur police chief had always demonstrated commitment, dedication and discipline, especially in public service.
"We have lost a man who was generous with his time and effort, a man who was a friend to many," he said.
Musa said even after retiring from the police force, Chin, a Sabahan, was active in many social and educational causes, sitting on the board of Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS), the Malaysian Crime Prevention Foundation and was a key member of the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) on illegal immigrants in the state.
"On behalf of my family, I wish to express my heartfelt condolences to the family for their loss," he added.
Chin died of a stroke at the University Malaya Medical Centre at 6.04am Sunday. He was 79.
He leaves behind wife Puan Sri Shirley Cheng Hua Chien, 72, a son and a daughter.
He will be buried Thursday morning.
