Met Dept: Typhoon Sarika will not hit Sabah

KUALA LUMPUR: Typhoon Sarika, located 1,248km northeast of Sandakan, Sabah, will not hit the state, according to the Malaysian Meteorological Department.  

In a statement here Sunday, it said the typhoon was on a west by northwest trajectory heading towards Luzon Island, Philippines.
