KUCHING: The newly-built Murum hydroelectric dam was officially declared open in the central Sarawak district of Belaga Tuesday.
The 944 Megawatts Murum Dam was symbolically “opened” by Sarawak Governor Tun Abdul Taib Mahmud at the hydropower project site located about 250km inland from the nearest major urban centre of Bintulu.
