PUTRAJAYA: The Women, Family and Community Development Ministry wants direct access to the police registry for criminals so it can conduct background checks on those who want to set up or work for children-related facilities.
Its Deputy Minister Datin Paduka Chew Mei Fun said this collaboration was important to ensure those convicted of committing crimes against children would not be allowed to be in close contact with the young.
