A NOISY environment can have either a temporary or permanent effect on one’s hearing depending on the level and duration of exposure.

Citing an example of a law that protects our hearing, Malaysian National Society of Audiologists (Mansa) president Patrick Tan says no one should be exposed to noise exceeding 90dBA (dBA is a measure of sound) for more than eight hours continuously under the Factory and Machinery Act 1967.
