Kelantan MCA: PAS’ Syariah laws turning out to be public policy

PETALING JAYA: The Kota Baru municipal council’s move to fine a watch retailer over two posters deemed “sexy”, shows that PAS’ Syariah dictates are being formalised as public policy via local council by-laws, said Kelantan MCA Youth chairman Chong Swee Wee.

“By coercing Syariah’s codes unto non-Muslims in Kelantan, PAS’ actions and motives affect the rights and daily lifestyles of non-Muslims who are not or may not be familiar with matters deemed an offence under Syariah,” Chong said in a statement.
