Duterte to be radical in curbing Abu Sayyaf

KOTA KINABALU: Expectations are running high that incoming Philippines president Rodrigo Duterte (pic) will introduce radical measures, including imposition of martial law, to curb the kidnap-for-ransom Abu Sayyaf group in the southern part of the country.

Southern Philippines-based anti-kidnapping activist Prof Octavio Dinampo said there was anticipation that Duterte’s administration would impose martial law in certain municipalities in Sulu province where the island of Jolo is located.
