AN audit into the Malaysian Immigration System (myIMMs) found, among others, weaknesses in its planning, implementation and monitoring, as well as RM10.3mil worth of unused biometric system and equipment.
The system, an online database of information installed across the Immigration Department’s local and foreign offices, is a RM29.9mil project awarded via direct negotiations to HeiTech Padu Berhad in late 2010 for one year and approved by the Finance Ministry.
