KUALA LUMPUR: The Immigration Department director-general has always had the power to bar any Malaysian from leaving the country if they go against the Constitution, Deputy Home Minister Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed said.
Acts that could get a person barred from leaving Malaysia include making seditious comments, including on social media, such as insulting particular ethnic groups or followers of a religion.
