GEORGE TOWN: The scale of Gurney Wharf project became a point of contention at the state assembly with Opposition Leader Datuk Jahara Hamid asking why it was 24.3ha along the Gurney Drive foreshore.
“Do Penangites need a 24ha garden? I am a senior citizen and if you ask me to walk in a garden the size of even a hectare, I do not think I can do it,” she said when debating her motion of thanks on the Yang di-Pertua Negri’s speech yesterday.
