Seven cabbies and chef burnt hole in their pockets


GEORGE TOWN: A remorseful chef and seven taxi drivers who pleaded guilty to illegal gambling were fined RM1,800 each by a magistrate’s court here.

Lim Thong Tat, 32, Tan Yeap Juan, 58, Hun Min Par, 56, Ong Em Choon, 56, Lim Chong Poh, 50, Kim Eng Huat, 57, Tan Boon Seng, 53, and Goh Seik Hee, 64, admitted gambling illegally at a coffee shop in Magazine Road here at 5.45pm on April 8.
